We hiked the Kolokee Loop Trail and it ended up being one of those classic Florida hikes that’s just nonstop scenery the entire way. This loop is right around 5 miles and takes you through peaceful woods and runs right alongside the Econlockhatchee River for some amazing river views. Parts of the trail is also a part of the Florida Scenic Trail that runs from the panhandle all the way down to Big Cypress National Preserve. In this video, we’ll share what the trail is like, what to expect on the route, and the best spots along the way to slow down and soak it all in. Planning a visit to De Soto National Memorial in Bradenton, Florida and wondering what you’ll actually see there? In this video, we walk you through this tiny national park site, what’s open after recent hurricane damage, and how to make the most of a short visit. Ever wondered what it’s like to tour Daytona International Speedway and actually step onto the famous Daytona 500 track? In this video we take you along on the official Speedway Tour, explore behind the scenes areas like pit road, Victory Lane, and the infield, and then finish up inside the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. Even though we’re not hardcore race fans, this ended up being one of the most impressive venues we’ve visited in Florida. We’ll start with some basic info and first impressions of just how massive the speedway really is, then ride the tram out onto the 2.5 mile track to see the steep 31 degree banking up close. From there we check out the start/finish line, talk about what makes the Daytona 500 such a big deal, stop by Victory Lane, and drive through the infield and Fanzone area. After the tour, we head inside the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America to see the winning car from the most recent Daytona 500, classic stock cars, land speed record cars, power boats, motorcycles, aviation exhibits, and more. We’ll also go over ticket options, what to expect on a typical tour, how track activity can change your route, and why this is still worth doing even if you’re not a NASCAR fan. If you’re visiting around the holidays, we’ll show you the Magic of Lights drive thru event at the speedway too, which is a fun add on with millions of lights and themed displays.
